Proximity sensor isn't working :/

My mom's iphone 6 was stuck in a boot loop followes by a prolonged blue screen. I finally got it to restore in DFU mode after several attempts.

Now, the proximity sensor won't work. The front camera and ear piece all work, but the phone doesn't auto adjust to light in the room or turn off during a phone call. I tried replacing the proximity sensor with two other new flex cables and even tried scratching out a bigger hole where the proximity sensor sits in the screen but it still won't work.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The Front Camera/Sensor flex is known to cause boot issues. These small parts are also known to have quality issues. Depending on where you bought it, it is possible that the replacement flexes are also defective. Ideally, you want to isolate the problem with a known-good part. When not possible, getting a part from a different yet reputable supplier can help you isolate the issue.

If you haven't already purchased it from iFixit, then I suggest you do as part of your troubleshooting. If the sensors continue to fail regardless, you may have a logic board issue. Try the new flex first and report back.
