My iPod is shutting down after a short while?

My ipod is shutting down after a various amount of time and starts up again after a few minutes, this has been going on for about five months and the time between starts and stops is different from time to time. I have been updating the firmware a few times and it don't do anything for the better. Anyone who can give me an answer what to do with it and i have an older one thats showing a yellow triangle and some words to small to make out what it says.

Would be very happy for some good answers

mikael hansson, I have researched this and the only thing that i could find out is that this might be due to a corrupted file or because of a mono file being played with EQ. I would try to safe my files and back it up, then start of by clearing your iPod and sync it with some songs that are new and see if that makes a difference. Now give us some more info n the "older ones thats showing a yellow triangle" What older one? Ipod, what generation?
