My TV is cutting out intermittently with loss of picture and sound but showing a green power on light. In this state it is impossible to select a channel and the set has to be powered off and then on again to resume normal operation

@dougbain sounds like a power transistor issue on the power board. You can unplug the set, remove the back of it and check your boards for obvious damage. Post some pictures of your boards with your question so we can see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that
