replaced glass digitizer, still does not work

i bought this from amazon.com to replace a digitizer that wasnt responding to any touch, and after replacing it it still doesnt work. i dont have a working 3gs to swap parts and compare with, so what im wondering is if this was just a case of really cheap manufacturing and getting a dud replacement, or if there is something wrong with the motherboard? thanks!

I had a similar problem with my 3G.

What I did was peel of the small piece of sticky foam from the old digitiser cable and place it on the new one (it didnt come with any).

This pressed the cable onto the motherboard slightly and allowed all the contacts to connect.

Hope this helps!
