The jack for connecting the charger to the laptop is loose
the jack on the lap for connecting the charger is loose and it won't recharge

Hi mala, I suppose the computer can be on by using battery
The adapter jack could been worn out, you can send in to a repair shop to replace the job, else if you know how to replace yourself, you can order the adapter jack from ebay or aliexpress.

Your answer is what I suspected. Thank you. I have been repairing electronic equipment for over 50 years , but I have been worried that the miniaturization that I will find inside the laptop might make the repair pretty difficult.
