Backlight Not Working and in Password Reset or Welcome/Language Select

I replaced the retina display on Mac Pro 15", mid 2015 after months (no battery charge).

Backlight is not working -- but I can see by shining a light through plastic apple behind screen that computer is on.

Using another monitor through HDMI cable, I get stuck in either the Password Reset -- which, when I attempt to reset tells me there is a server error (repeatedly).

Otherwise, I got to the startup prompting selection of language and agreement to terms.

Any ideas?

Might be worth checking you put the cable from the monitor to the MB in correctly, and you didn't accidentally unplug a WiFi antenna when you were routing around inside, that might be why you're getting a server error on the password reset. Does it work over Ethernet?

Thank you, Jack.

I'm hesitant to move anything in the computer. I opened it again, and it all looks good. Also, once or twice I was able to get to my password prompt, but my password doesn't seem to be working -- which I'm thinking now is maybe because I started a reset request.

So the main problem is the backlight -- I think.

The parts all fit. My Pro is a mid-2015, though, and I see that iFixit has a mid-2015 screen.

Could that be the problem? (I don't even know whether this is stupid question.

But I really think I got all the parts connected correctly, after 2 hours working on the thing, very carefully.
