Can't push MacBook ZIF ribbin into socket deep enough to lock it.

Hi I just replaced the DC socket and I cannot push the zif cable ribbon in enough to lock it with the flap. I don't have the plastic spudger but I also can't figure out how the spudger would help or how to get any grip on the plastic ribbon since it's glossy plastic.

Anyone know a trick for me?

This is the reverse of step 14 guide 1676 in a unibody A1342....

Thank you to anyone who can help me out. I'm not a great mechanic.

also can't quite tell if there is an upper and lower channel for the ribbon to go into....

Hey Tony, that's a good idea, I ended up spending 2 hours trying, and I finally got it by putting the battery in, then I used a small rubber spatula to push the thing in. What a pain in the *%%.... I didn't have electrical tape as I was at a girls house! Thank you, I've never tried anything like that before funny how the new computers seem easier to put together but man tiny electrical is a ^&$#$....

Best way I have found to do that is to take some electrical tape, loop it together sticky side out. It will help you lift the cable into place, takes some practice to get it to slide in correctly but that usually works.
