Swapping parts between logic boards. IMEI related.

Im going to transfer imei and all other information that is required for the phone to operate functionally and on the same network no loss of function. Which hardware/chips will need to be swapped between two boards if at all figured out yet?

Chosen Solution

To answer your question without discussing the usefulness or alternative solutions:

You need to transfer at a minimum the CPU, eeprom, and BB_CPU from one board to another one.

In theory: feasible.

Practically: very low rate of success for even the most skilled micro-solderers.

@rany Yup fully agree with you on this one. Tried it with some frankenstein phones and caused more problems than what it solved to be honest.

Hi Casey, I dont suggest the road you are thinking of taking when it comes to switching the onboard MLB chips, there are multiple issues that you are liable to run into due to the fact that if you start switching out ID /serial/IMEI chipsets you might as well just switch one MLB for Another?! IMEI will switch as soon as you switch the MLB. Personally your making more work for yourself with a higher problem than solution yield. Be careful is all i can say to that question.
