Is this flickering caused by LVDS cable or something else?

My screen is flickering in a predictable cycle. During the flicker, there is horizontal and vertical grey lines and the display seems to freeze. However, the computer does not freeze during this time... if you keep typing you will see it all when the flickering dissipates.

As a little background. The LVDS connector was replaced but the tech that did it never reported this sort of issue. (I had to leave the country right after the repair so never had time to turn on the computer, the tech left it disassembled he only soldered the connector, quickly plugged it in and tested ok for him).

The computer was then shipped over disassembled. I can see a tiny bit of damage on the LVDS connector, so wondering if this could be a symptom of the connector or if it is something else?

Lastly, my battery is pooched. 0% replace immediately so I am running off adapter. Not sure if that mattered, but thought I'd mention it on the off chance the display flicker/freeze/cycle has to do with some unstable power issue because of no battery.

Here is a video of what's going on.

Please let me know if you guys have seen anything like this before and what you think it is. Thanks.
