no charging, no wake up after a dead battery change battery

Hello,

I bought a dead Macbook pro with battery in bad condition, the battery was inflated.

I bought a new battery from Ifixit :) thinking I was on the good way.

I replaced it and then .... nothing !

current status is :

the battery is half charged

the battery indicator works fine

the Macbook don't start :

with the battery

with the charger with or without battery

the magsafe stay green (try with another...same result)

I have tried SMC.... no result.

I can change any components or make any tests necessary, but I don't have the schematic or board.

Please help me, thank you.

How does the logic board look any corrosion or wet stains? You'll want to pull it and look at the other side. Review this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2010 Logic Board Replacement.

Use a piece of electricians tape to help you ease out & then back in the ribbon cables by creating a pull tab.

Take your time & make sure you don't force things!

Reference these images to help you compare things:

Don't pop the heat sink at this time!

Update (09/18/2017)

Review your connections as you may have not fully inserted the ribbon cables into the clamps.

I would also recommend you get a USB keyboard & mouse as you may need to use them if the keyboard & trackpad is damaged which is what I'm suspecting. You'll need to use the Power Pads located on the logic board to turn the system on with the keyboard & trackpad cables disconnected.
