Won't turn on after sleep sensor/battery indicator tore

I was replacing the charging port on my macbook pro. When putting everything back together the sleep sensor/battery indicator got stuck and when I tried to get it out it tore. I'm kicking myself for not going slower on this, but now the computer will not turn on at all. Is there a way to replace this ribbon? Please help.

The MacBook should still turn on without the battery indicator plugged in; why did you replace the charging port and was it working properly before?

If it's a Core 2 Duo model, make sure the keyboard is connected properly, otherwise the power button will not be recognised. i5/i7 models will boot automatically when the charger is plugged in, if the battery is disconnected or newly reconnected.
