New battery from Ifixit, is not charging

I purchased a replacement battery from I fixit, installed it with no problem. it works fine but doesnt charge. the light on the Magsafe adapter is green, it doesnt change to orange. the battery icon on the screen shows that its charging, but it really isnt. Ive already tried resetting the SMC several times, still not working. any ideas?

I replaced the previous battery after it showed an icon to service battery. the computer has been cared for, has not been dropped or exposed to liquids. Thanks in advance.

Did the original battery charge at all? If so, what happens if you put the original battery back in? If it still charges then you may have simply gotten a bad battery. If it DOESN'T charge then you may have a more serious issue.
