How to fix iPhone 6 that won't get signal after fall

An iPhone 6 fell from about 5 feet onto the floor. Ever since then it will not get service. If I move its logic board to a different phone, will this fix the issue?

Maybe the antenna got busted but I doubt it. It is most likely a issue UNDER the baseband chip. The traces like to fail the same way as the touch issues on the 6.

Tim's right. It's very rare the antenna ever gets busted.

What have you done to diagnose the carrier issue?

I typically troubleshoot carrier issues as so:

  • Back up the unit, because it's always good to play it safe
  • test another sim card to see if it can find it's network
  • restart the phone
  • reset network settings
  • manually search for network

If all else fails, the last thing to do is a restore on the unit. This will finalize whether it's an internal issue.

Hope this helps.
