How to test the camera part independently?

Hi !

I've been playing with unmounting elements in my iPhone 7.

I wonder how can I test independently the CCD camera at the back.

How can I connect the camera to a separate board and test it using some other microcontroller ?

Realistically, that is not possible as there are no public, published low-level specifications of the camera and its controller requirements. Anything you do will require a massive investigative effort and is way beyond the scope of iFixit Answers.

If you are already an expert in image sensors, then you're already way ahead of me. If you just hope to do something cool with these amazing yet inexpensive cameras, be prepared to do a lot of homework (check out Apple patents).
