Why won't my keyboard connect to the tablet?

I plugged a flash drive into my USB port and ever since, my keyboard won't connect. when my tablet is placed on the keyboard, it will repeatedly switch between tablet and computer mode, but I cannot click any keys or move the mouse. I have reset the device completely and have looked everywhere online for a solution, but have come up with no luck. Please help!
