1 The picure appears on the screen in brief flashes
The device is an LG 47LB630V television. The picture appears on the screen as brief flashes at about 2-3 second intervals, between which the screen is dark. Sound comes normally without any cutting or fading. The remote control can be used to turn the tv on and off, but cannot make the tv change channel. What can I do to get the tv to work normally? I have tried disconnecting the power supply and re-connecting it, this made no difference.

I have the same problem except that I can change channels and open smart TV functions. The picture is complete but doesn't display long enough to to anything. My picture flashes on almost every second and between is a black screen. Remote and audio are just fine.

margvincent what make and model is your TV? What have you checked besides the points you've mentioned? This could be a power board issue or a bad backlight array (my first suspect. For that you will have to take the back of your TV off and look at all the boards. Check for obvious damage like scorched looking components, domed or leaking capacitors etc.
