PS3 SuperSlim is much to loud after few minutes - How to fix?

Hello together!

I have a PS3 SuperSlim 12GB (CECH-4004) and after few minutes in a game in a pretty cool room the Fan of my Console starts to tun on max like the console will be overheating. The Console is standing completly free on a desk, so hot air can`t be the reason for it.

I have opened the Console, was like complete free of dust and i have replaced the dry Thermal Paste with a good one. I work a lot with computers and know how many Thermal Paste i need to use.

But the Problem not fixed and still the same, after few minutes the Fan starts to be a hair dryer.

Maybe the themperature sensor doesn`t work well anymore?

Does someone know how to fix this issue?

Sounds like the same in this YT Video -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S43P5FcM...

Mine Started doing Same as well as I also have superslim ps3, but my problem was Modders/ Hackers, who accessed my ps3 through DNS, making it run harder. Especially now that ps3 is so old more people are taking advantage of Mod Menus and Etc. As it does not get monitored as much. But do please explain more. Does your system do this right as you turn on ps3, or does it do it when you access an Online Game?

Hi!

While what you're saying about the sensor could be a reason for the fan to spin up, I wouldn't start replacing anything until other possibilities are eliminated.

If the games you are playing are on a disk, then you might hear the drive spinning the disk, I know for sure my own PS3 SS is also making a lot of noise while in games... And even if the fan spins up while in games that are not on a disk, that's normal, it's just keeping the system cool; if it turns off while you're in a game, now that's a reason to worry.

Another way to test this is by letting the system on, in the XMB menu. The fan should not spin at full rev in this case and if it does, it could indicate a deeper problem.

It is not the DiscDrive, it the the Fan for sure, here a YT Video who someone got the same Problem like me

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEWRQ_N7... but my console doesn`t overhead afrer a longer time of gaming.

I know the noise of a normal working PS3 super slim on warm temperatures too, but this isn`t normal and much to loud.

The Fan does keep like on maximum after leaving the game and waiting few minutes in XMB.
