Can u buy two broken iPhones and combine them to make a working phone?

Im looking for a new phone, but then I got curios for something. I asked my self can u buy two iPhones of the same kind. Then find out what is wrong with each of them and then use the working parts from one the phones, and replace them with the non-working parts of the other phone? Can u do it? And how do u find out with parts aren't working and with are? Im right now thinking of iPhone 7.

That will work if the two phones have different issues. Say one has a broken screen and the other has a broken logic board. Just make sure the one get with the working logic board is from a source that you can return it if is locked. That is usually not Craigslist

Not a good idea. An iPhone 7 with an unlocked working logic board is worth about the same as a....a working iphone 7. You'd end up paying for a phone and a half trying to do this, plus you'd have the risk of damaging the home button/fingerprint sensor---each home button is married to the logic board of that phone. If you damage the home button then you won't be able to just replace it.
