Why are my recorded videos too large to share?

When I try to share my videos to text or email or Facebook I get File too large message How can I solve this problem?

Video files are inherently large. To put it into perspective, a 30 second 1280x720 resolution video clip from a decent consumer camera which records in MP4 produces a file size around 40-50mb. Gmail has a 15mb email file limit, where it will not send an email greater than that size. Aol had (may still have) a 5mb email file size limit.

It is likely that you are trying to share a video that exceeds Facebook's file size limitation. The longer the length of video, the greater the file size. Instagram allows for up to 60second video sharing, but in order for it to achieve any form or responsiveness, instagram aggressively compresses the video.

Try shortening the video with a video editor or separately compressing it.
