motherboard dead can I retrieve data

the motherboard of my 2015 hp spectre 13.3 x360 2 in 1 running Windows 10 is fried. massive power surge on OLD OLD building, at any rate I would really like all the data retrieved if possible. is this something I can do (I AM NOT tech savvy at all!!!) myself I am excellent direction follower!! Or what?? who would do it if not me & about how much would something like that run?

Have a look at page 30 on this PDF file. This is a m2 drive but a local shop should be able to pull the data off of the drive if your bring it to them. Removing the drive is fairly simple. http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04055643.p...

You can also buy a USB caddy for an M.2 drive. That is what I did. Cost me about $25
