iPhone works, but battery won't charge up unless I bump it.

So this one's weird, had this issue for a while now.

My iPhone 5S after doing repairs on it, seems to have this problem where the battery will not charge. ( Lightning bolt and charging indicator is showing, but % will not increase when plugged in. )

However, if I bump the phone, it'll start to charge again until go about my day (carrying it in my pocket)

I've had this issue for a couple years now.. but it seems to have become worse..?

I'm able to see whether the battery is charging with an iPhone tweak called 'Battery Life' telling me whether the battery is receiving mAh charge input or not.

So yeah, bumping my phone is the temporary fix to make it charge.. what is the reason for that?

Obviously it's hardware related..

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hello,

If you plug in the cable does the metal part completely go in?

If not its possible theres alot of dust in it blocking the power.

But when it indicates that its charging then it most likely is a motherboad issue. ( power ic lose or needing to be replaced) i would first try with a different battery and ligthing charger to be sure.

Let's skip dirty charging port, cables and batteries and stick with the phone internals here. ;x

LOGICboard is fine, as far as I see. No damage and all screws not overtightend to print breach.

How is the IC 'loose' isn't that a chip on the board..? Unsure how a bump would change something so fragile and light weight.

Whatever it is has to be heavier.. could battery position dictate this?

no battery position should have nothing to do with this, my money is still on motherboard ive these kind of things before. A phone didnt charge if you held it, put if you lay it down on a table it works. This was also power ic.

D'no how that's got to be the issue, a bump of the phone changing whether something like that works or not?

Can't be.
