im trying to do a factory reset, but sytem will not regognize the dvd

Hi, I hope you can please help. Last year when windows 10 came out.... I kept getting notifications from window to download 10 until they gave me no option and I had to...Then my laptop started having tons of issues and I never had any problems before this. So I uninstalled windows 10.....since then my laptop would not successfully run any updates, will not open most things... only opens the internet and office 7. I get messages with tons of numbers and the most common (explorer.exe server execution failed) when ever I try to open anything. I want to do a factory reset or recovery, as I have the DVDs, and all the software to set the laptop back up to before windows 10. Plus I also have a second hard drive with windows 8 already installed if this one is too far gone. Along with the laptop not opening anything - like the control panel, or My Computer , when I right click on the start button it doesn't give me the option run or anything, I can not get the laptop to auto start or run the DVD drive to start the recovery. So how can I do it? any ideas?

Hi!

You need to set a different boot priority if you want your laptop to boot from the DVD. To do this, turn the system off. Right after you turn it back on (don't wait for Windows to load - you press power on then quickly tap the key until something appears on screen), press F11 and follow the on screen instructions to start the recovery, if the DVD is inserted.
