Why won't the small screws on the outside cover come out?

The two small external screws at the bottom of the iPhone 3GS will not move. I have the front panel repair kit and the screwdriver that came with it, but the screwdriver seems more to be wearing away the screw than to be making it come out. It does not look like it has moved at all, but it is starting to look a little worn down. How can I fix this?

I sometimes resort to a very fine screwdriver from a cheap spectacle kit. Have look on this forum under "stripped screws ". There is an answer from yesterday about this same problem- click on answers (top left) and just scroll back over last few days
