Why is my iPhone randomly opening apps, taking pictures, typing letter

My Iphone is a hand me down but it didn't have any problem up until i received it. It types random letter and opens apps. Sometimes ill knock it a little bit which helps sometimes. I've restarted it over and over thinking that it would solve the problem but it hasn't. Maybe its a screen issue?

My micro cracked screen iPad does the same thing.

In fact it locked me out from Apple ID so severe, I had to

have Apple Support live on the phone two different days

to solve it on laptop to get back in,,

Making sure iPad had no access to network..

There are a few things that can cause what you are experiencing but yes...I would start with a screen replacement after checking that all the connectors are seated properly. Remember...1. Power off phone 2. Unplug battery 3. keep track of screws that hold the shield on, they have to go back into same hole they came out of 4. when disconnecting the connectors, be gentle...you don't want to knock off little components or damage the flex cables.

Here is a guide that may help you

I had the same issue and replaced my iPhone 6 Plus with a new one. It continued to happen so I searched more on the web and saw comments about static electricity... I decided to wrap my phone in dryer sheets to remove the static and it now works perfectly

Maybe the touch issue, reconnect the LCD screen or change a new replacement to have a try.

iPhone typing by itself -problem fixed. As it was typing crazily, I simply tapped on the little square icon on top, left side of keyboard (next to the microphone icon). It was instantly fixed. Couldn’t believe it.
