Upper case bulge from battery expansion

the upper case is bulging from battery expansion. the apple store personnel said no parts are available for them to do it, but aftermarket repair is an option. they gave a caution tho that many parts need replacement, not just the battery. i see in the battery replacement comments that once the cover screws were removed the upper case flattened out and was ok, but is that the normal response or do i really need to replace more than the battery?

Hi!

Depending on how bad the bulge is, you may or may not need to replace the palmrest as well. You can remove the battery from the system without having a replacement ready to see if the case will flex back to normal.
