Build my own iPhone from parts

Since a few month i'm thinking of building my one Iphone from parts. But I didn't found any forum that answered all my question.

First of all, is it possible to build your own Iphone from parts ? Have some of you already done it ?

Secondly, I'm looking for a list with all the differents parts needed to build an iphone. I was told that to build one I would need a original logicboard. Where could I find one, i've looked on ebay and i didn't found anything.

Any response would be appreciated.

You would be best off buying a broken one, like you have found, acquiring a working logic board with homebutton will probably cost you the same as buying a smashed up iPhone

Well... It won't really save you any money if that was what you were thinking.

Here's Scotty Allen's story Building an iPhone 6s from Recycled Part from China

Here's a YouTube vid on his quest: How I Made My Own iPhone in China

I might add while the cost was around $300 that didn't include his time and cost of travel. I would guess it would cost you at least 3k today getting to China and staying their for a few weeks.

Well..coming from a person that buys on eBay quite frequently. Which don't buy phones off eBay. You could do it. The largest problem would be acquiring the logic board and home button. Though I'm not currently certain the Touch ID..is stored...locally..after that building the phone from spare parts would be easy, and reasonably cost effective. I believe I agree with the $300 number

I did something sort of similar to this, I bought an iPhone 6s that had been destroyed. I took my cousin's 6s and took his screen off and connected his battery to my phone, it turned on but wouldn't charge. I bought a brand new screen, battery, and charging port. With that being said, the replacement screen has backlight problems and needs to be replaced. So while it is possible, there is a lot of room for error. I only paid around 120$ for my 6s, but am having to buy a whole new screen to replace the backlight.

Yes. It is possible if you live in china where you can easily get these parts. Otherwise, it's extremely hard to get ahold of the parts. You could probably find some scrap parts at recyclers and go from there. However, I have heard that the fingerprint reader on the home button is firmware paired with it's respective board, so mixing and matching these won't work.
