Your system has a SATA III (6.0 Gb/s) HD interface which can support a 2.5" 7mm high drive. So you do need to be careful the drive is not to high.
The Seagate SSHD: Seagate FireCuda is a good choice or if you are looking for a SSD drive the Samsung 850 EVO is also possible.

I'd also change out the hard drive I/R cable to the 2012 cable when doing this. MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable Put electrical tape on the bottom of the hard drive bay as it is know to be rough and damage cables.
