Why does my device have 2 connections from the left cellular antenna

iPad 2 a1397 left cellular antenna has 2 leads connecting to the board. The new one only has one.

Why ? Is this going to work?

This ipad doesn't have sim card so does that mean with this left celluar antenna i could use the single wire antenna ? Thanks for your help !

Are you comparing the older iPad 2 with the newer iPad Air2 models?

The iPad Air series offer MIMO WiFi and need a second WiFi antenna.

I suspect you got the wrong part here.
