Started once for 5 min now won't boot

I bought the MacBook Pro for my daughter's birthday. When it arrived she was able to turn it on without a problem, but after about 5 minutes it shut down (we thought the battery wasn't charged). Now it won't boot. The battery indicator on the side is working fine and is showing full, but aside from that it's completely unresponsive. I am waiting to hear back from the company I bought it from online, but that won't be until Monday. Can anyone help, please???

Try resetting the SMC. disconnected battery and mag-safe, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. Plug the battery back in, then attach the mag-safe, You should get a spontaneous boot.

I reset the SMC, disconnected the battery and mag-safe, pressed the power button for 5 seconds. After I plugged everything back in nothing happened...

That sounds like a logic board problem. I'd return it ASAP.
