Why is my phone not turning on

I've had my phone for a bit over a year and a half and it's mostly been fine but I turned my phone off the other day as it was playing up saying I had no photos and videos on my camera roll, the wifi was playing up and I had no storage so when I tried to turn it back on later that day it went from the normal black screen to the white screen with the apple logo as it would usually do then maybe a minute or maybe less after it went back to the black screen and it would repeat this every time I tried to turn it on, I've tried charging it and doing the thing where you hold the home and sleep button and the volume and sleep button but neither of these methods worked please help me

Your phone is boot-looping. A boot-looping device can be caused by many things. How was your battery doing before this...was it struggling to hold a charge and not lasting very long? If the battery was weak, that would be one of the first things to try replacing. Give us more history by commenting on this answer.

Try these things (if you haven't already) to see if anything helps:

  • Try a hard reset (Home & Power button for 10 secs)
  • Use a genuine Apple Lightning connector
  • Use a genuine Apple charging brick and let it charge overnight
  • Try to connect it to different computers (mac/pc if possible) with an updated iTunes
  • Put the phone in recovery mode (search DFU Mode). Careful, this can reset your data
  • Use 3uTools for putting it in and out of Recovery Mode
  • Use 3uTools to flash the firmware (you can't downgrade)
  • Check the condition of all the flexes (with magnification)
  • Disconnect the Front Camera Ribbon from the logic board and reboot your phone
  • Disconnect the screen assembly completely and see if iTunes will recognize the phone.

Otherwise, you may have a logic board issue. If you are uncomfortable doing these steps, consider finding a repair shop to do the troubleshooting. A shop that also does micro-soldering can go deeper if the problem is not modular in nature.

Holding the home and power buttons at the same time works for me.

Could be an issue with the battery, Only thing that would make sense. Not sure what you mean by playing up with no photos but I had the issue with the apple logo screen on my iPhone SE. I replaced my battery and it appeared to fix it. I could be wrong though, i just know when you have a phone for a long time the battery tends to die quicker or not charge right.
