re: A1226 Nvidia 8600 with 64mb of vram

OK. Both Apple Support and Nvidia customer support seem to be run by 12 year olds so I'm asking you guys. I sent my A1226 2.2 Macbook pro in to get an upgraded Nvidia chip to fix graphics issues. I get it back and it runs fine enough. But when I check the vram, it only shows 64mb. I recall 128mb versions of the 8600, but not 64mb. Its an old machine, but I'm keeping it. I just would like to know if its some kind of scam.

The repair place told me something about upgraded components to compensate. Does anyone know what the deal is with Nvidia 8600M chips for A1226 with 64mb of vram???
