ear speaker not working normaly

Hello all!

A customer came in with her phone because the ear speaker was not working normally. You can hear something but its very very low sound. Even the sound is full up.

I have tried the following.

  • Replacing the ear speaker iFixit Ear Speaker
  • Replacing the front camera and sensor cable iFixit Front Camera and Sensor Cable
  • Replaced the whole screen.
  • cleaned the phone with alchohol.
  • resetting the phone to factory settings.
  • used 3utools to flash the firmware.
  • tried recovery mode with itunes

All this without luck. Any of you out there have any idea or solution?

Thanks in advance :D

It sounds like you have covered most everything I could have thought of. Have you tried removing the micro screen that the speaker sits in to make sure there is no foreign particles blocking the sound from passing through? Also, is there any other mic, headphone jack, speakerphone issues (Just thinking audio IC).

@captaintech

Only other thing I can think of is the FPC Connector damage or possibly a filter or cap is bad?

Thanks for your answer. yes we checked where the speaker sits and as i mentioned even tried a new screen. We cleaned all the parts of the phone related to this. The phone has no other issues then the ear speaker. The loudspeaker and all mic's works perfectly. I am thinking there must be some sort of issue on the motehrboard but i am not sure of why or where.

Maybe checking the battery’s connections? I had an audio issue that appeared after I changed batteries, but never managed to fix it.
