When I boot my 3DS, the two screens stay black.

Guys can you help me please? So, I've got an Old Nintendo 3DS XL. I never tried to hack it/install pirated games on it, I only downloaded free games & demos from the Nintendo eShop. Some random day, I decided to play SMM (Super Mario Maker, a game I bought at GameStop), I turned the 3ds on, but the screens were black. After some time, still black. The power light is blue tho. I think that the battery level is 2-3/4. I never tried to open my nintendo & I think re charging my 3DS does something bad. Any answer?

Oh, I tried to:

#1.1: Re boot it.

#1.2: Still nothing.

#2.1: Check if sound could be heared.

#2.2: sound can't be heared.

Is it a BsoD? I HOPE NOT!

Here are a few more things you could try:

1. Unscrew the bottom cover, take out the battery and put it back in there (this won't void your warranty). Do this while the system is off.

2. Connect the power supply, boot the system up, see if anything changes

3. While the system is on, take out your game card/SD card, hold the power button for 10 seconds, and close the lid. After it's completely off, open the lid again and turn it on without putting back the SD Card. See if it works.

I am sorry to hear that.

You might also want to let the system on and let the battery die out.

You should in this case look for a replacement motherboard, installing it yourself might be a lot cheaper than having someone fix it for you. Also the guide here on iFixit on the 3DS XL is pretty good. Besides, you can't break it more than it already is.

Well, I don't want to replace motherboard...but I am waiting for the battery to die while the system is on. I don't want to replace motherboard because I am not an expert, I just have 12 years. Thanks for helping me out tho. Hope letting the battery dying works.

It still didn't work. Probably replacing the motherboard is the best solution. Well maybe in the future...see you ;)

Wait there's one more thing: Try using recovery mode. Press R+L+A+(D-PAD)-UP while booting.

You should replace that motherboard, it's not as hard as you might think. I started fixing my colleagues' old DSs about 4 years ago when I was 14 for money, it's a thing to look into ;)
