My New 3DS XL turn on, but after a few seconds it turns off

Hi! sorry if my english isn't very good, i need your help

I had this problem with my New 3DS XL: i had a problem with the motherboard, so i bought another for replacement. I follow the Ifixit guide to change it, and all went good, but when i turned it on, it starts the menu screen, shows up some icons, let me move a bit, and before i can do anything, it appears "An error has ocurred", and it says that i should try power it off. I tried many times and nothing, it's always the same.

Besides that, my top screen shows some moving "artifacts" in that process, but i'm not sure if it's the screen or the same problem that causes the error.

I hope you could help, i'm really desperate with this, it's been months that i've been trying this 3ds to work so i can play something

Thanks!

Hi!

Have you tried taking it apart again an checking all ribbon cables for damage and their connections to the board? They are very sensitive. A grain of dust inside the connector or an imperfect connection can prevent your console from working properly.

I'll try desconnecting all the motherboard, and then connecting again, it's my only hope. I fear also that a ribbon cable could have been damaged during assembly. Are they that fragile?

Yes, they are... I managed to break 2 of them when putting a DS Lite back together... Have fun taking it apart, maybe report back after you're done.

I seem to have found the problem. One of the screen LCD connectors, seems to miss a couple of pins, in the motherboard i bought. I compared to the original motherboard i had and confirmed that it has a couple of pins less. I think that is what causes the problem. Can this cause that "An error has ocurred" screen? Or if it's the screen connector, it should turn on with no problems, but display the image wrong?

by

A bad screen-board connection can cause that sort of error. The board can't access all of the screen's features and returns an error, then turns off.

Oh, i thought so. Thanks for all the help!

I also had this problem so just in case this saves someone the effort of unscrewing and refitting all the ribbon cables, this can also be caused by the wifi card not being pugged in right (the red wire)
