small strip of plastic inside printer has broken how do I replace

There is a very thin almost transparent strip of plastic that runs along the inside of the printer that seems to keep the ink cartridges running backwards and forwards, or at least knowing when the end of the machine is. This has broken off (my son pulled it off) how do i replace becasue now the ink heads just fly across to the other side of the printer and make a terrible noise and wont return to tehir base!

There are several ribbon cables. Please take a look at this guide and see if you can identify exactly which cable it is and let us know what step it is located in:

There are 3 white ribbons from the Epson printer front wall - attached to the ink cartridge carriage. All of a sudden, the carriage will go all the way to the left (like it is supposed to) but keeps going until it slams into the wall on the left side and makes a terrible noise. It will not return to its proper place on the right side. I would be so grateful is someone can tell me how to fix it. The tiny cables in the back don't seem to be the problem on my Epson printer. It's just that it won't stop on the left side before it hits the wall like it is supposed to. Very frustrating... Please help. Feb 9-2023
