MacBook Pro doesn't turn on. No fans. No LEDs. Just battery indicator.
So I was fixing my MacBook by replacing the fan, which had stopped working, as well as replacing my optical drive with an SSD. In the process, I snapped the iSight cable, so I guess that's the webcam gone :/ I'm ok with that, but when I put it all together again and put in the charging cable, the thing wouldn't power on. The MacBook was fully discharged before the operation, so I thought it would just take some time to charge or something, but the LED indicators showing how high the battery was didn't turn on, and after leaving it charging some time, it wouldn't turn on.
Fast forward a few months of busyness and here I am trying to repair it again. Now, for some reason, the LED indicators on the side work, with the flashing 1 bar showing low battery (I'm guessing by now, the battery is completely dead, since it was discharged for so long) and the MagSafe charging cable I have is green, so it thinks that the Macbook is fully charged.
I don't know a lot about Macbooks, but I do know that there might be something wrong with the MagSafe board or the logic board or I might just have to reset the SMC or... something else? How would I go about troubleshooting each one?
Thanks for all your responses!
(Once I'm done fixing it, I might go about replacing the battery, replacing the iSight cable, or the screen, which is currently cracked. But for now, I at least want to get it working ^-^)
btw please don't get me wrong... I'm actually a relatively careful person, so I don't usually snap or break stuff... I guess the snapped iSight cable and the cracked screen and the MacBook not turning on is some sort of freak incident. o_0
Is this a good question?
