My car starts and then dies after about a minute

my 2002 kia optima 2.4 car will start fine but then after a minute it dies. Then I start it again and it dies after about 40 seconds.. start it again and it will die after about 10 seconds...then you cant get it to start again for a day or so ...but then will do the same start, die thing
