Why is my home button not working?

Hi. I replaced the screen on my iPhone 7 llplus as the glass had shattered and the screen started bleeding. I replaced the screen but transferred across my original home button as needed to use Touch ID. Before completely reassembling the phone, I tested the screen which worked. I also tested the home button which worked for Touch ID and also to press the home button. As soon as I press the screen into place in the casing of the phone, the button stops pressing, however Touch ID still works. I want to know why the home button is not pressing and how to fix this. If you lift the screen from the phone casing again, the button starts to press again. The issue only happens when the screen is pushed back down into place on the phone. I have tried adjusting how tight the screws are on the home button plate and also disconnected the Touch ID from the cable and reconnected but nothing is working. Please help.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi,

Please check if the home button bracket isn't under the shield brackets, it should be over them.

It could also be an issue with the screen, as there could be an issue with the cables, try another replacement screen.

Also check you're not getting the cables trapped between the screen and housing.

hello

So I have just checked and the button bracket is on top of the back plate on the screen, so that should be okay

i dont think the cables are trapped ive tried taking apart and doing again, trying to keep the cables away from being trapped .. do you think it would be a faulty cable in the replacement screen? i only question this because the button does work properly and presses before you push the screen down into place

Thanks for your help!

p.s. just been playing round with the phone and noticed also that there is an issue with the camera since changing the screen. the 7 plus has more than one camera on the back of the phone and it looks like when you open the camera app (or anything else like snapchat etc which uses the camera) it looks like its using each of the camera on the back individually and changing camera every second or so .. not sure if ive explained this well

thanks!
