charging port when connected won't let the phone turn on. why?

Hello,

i have a galaxy s7 that got some water damage, i cleaned the entire motherboard with alcohol and put it all back to gather. i tried to power on the phone but it was stuck in a boot loop. i tried all of the normal software things like deleting the cash and even restoring the phone to factory settings. still in a boot loop. then it accoured to me that the damage was located where the motherboard is connected to the daughter board. so i disconnected the daughter board and it started up like normal. so i know the speaker does not work and the headphone jack as well is dead along with the back button and menu button. but the charging port still works. i can only reconnect the daughter board once the phone is turned on, if the phone powers off it will not turn back on without the daughter board being disconnected. so my question is , is there a connection with the mother and daughter boards that would cause a boot loop, and if so what is causing it? would it just be a fuse that is blown on the motherboard or is it the entire daughter board that needs to be replaced. if anyone can help i would be grateful.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Change the charging port daughter board it's already damaged from the liquid damage.

Make sure you get the exact model as labeled on the charging port or else the phone will not turn on with an incorrect model charging port assembly.

ive been working on the phone all day and i cleaned the connections to the daughter board and turned it on not connected and all worked . i then connected the daughter board and the back and menu button started to work. head phone and speaker did not though. i tried to restart thinking i had made some progress and that it would stop bootlooping but it still boot loops . i am afraid that if i risk putting on a new daughter board that it will break the screen and ill end up no better off.

got any thoughts about the boot loop with daughter board connected?

Oh, I forgot about the touch capacitive buttons going under the screen. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do and yeah breaking the screen during replacement of charging port is very high.

Did you try brushing the charging port assembly with 99% isopropyl alcohol?

by

yes lots and lots. also i took the soldering iron and hit the spots where the board connects just to make sure that there was no residue left and it was making a solid connection.
