Disconnected then reconnected my screen, now my digitizer won't work.

So I go to replace my iPhone 6s

screen. As soon as I remove the old screen I realize that I need to transfer the camera, speaker, and home button off the old screen and onto the new.

I had somewhere to go in 20 minutes, so I thought I'd put the old screen back and replace it later.

But when I put the old screen back on, the LCD doesn't display. The digitizer works because I can open the lock screen and tap the numbers to hear clicks.

I obviously damaged something. Could it be a problem with my motherboard, or is it the LCD itself?

I ordered a new COMPLETE assembly that will be here in a few days. Will the new assembly fix my problem?

Thanks.

Did you disconnect the battery prior to removing and installing your screen?

It sounds like you blew the backlight filter on the logic board. Connect your phone to an iTunes enabled computer and shine a bright flashlight on the screen. If you can see a dim image, then the backlight is the issue. It could also be the actual LCD/Backlight itself but usually it is the circuit.

The iPhone 6S is very sensitive to this issue, more so than the previous models of iPhones. This requires a micro-soldering repair and is not DIY.

No I didn't disconnect the battery. I connected it to a computer with iTunes and shined a flashlight on it. I did see a very dim image of my lock screen.

I assume a micro soldering repair would cost a heap right?

I don't know about a heap... ;>)

Dealing with a reputable micro-solderer will cost you about $100 - $150. Compared to the value of an iPhone 6S and the skill and equipment required, that's quite reasonable IMO.

There are a few reputable micro-solderers who frequent this forum or you can search Google. You can check out my profile if you'd like, at the very least it will serve as a data point.
