wont connect to iTunes

so my ipod is connected to itunes and a message keeps on popping up and say that the ipod is corrupted and i need to restore it when it wasnt orriganally mine in the first place it was my neihbors daughter i tried letting it die and try again and i tried disconnecting it and reconnecting it but it just kept on saying the same thing. please help. thank you.

Hi @yugyeom, I suspect the ipod operating system has been corrupted, thus it is asking you to do a restore,

if restore fails, there is a probably the internal hard drive is having issues.

If there is no important data, just try restoring first
