Capacitive button shorting, fix or replace?

So my phone randomly decided to start thinking I pressed the back button when I didn't on Saturday and now it works for a bit and then it will happen many times a minute for a few minutes and then be fine again. I have do idea why it started happening as I didn't drop the phone or any of the usual damage-causing things, just using it like normal.

I'm assuming this is probably due to the ribbon cable for the button getting damaged (somehow?) and the only way to fix it is to replace but I wanted a second opinion on the issue.

I'm also not sure how to glue the display frame back after I replace it and I didn't see any tutorials for that.

So if anyone can chip in a confirmation or other solution that'd be great! Model number SM-G920V

Thanks!

I actually use the "Red" 3 M double sided tape to reassemble and cut to fit where I need it. You can find pre-cut tape for the s6 online but they never seem to hold as good as the original or the 3m red I use...I have a roll of 1mm and 5 mm. As for removing the screen, after the first try cracked the LCD, I found this video and have had 3 others successful. Best of luck!
