hello, i would like to say that my ipod mini a1051 shows only the charging symbol and not opening this happens only whwn i connect my ipod to pc but if when connect with the adaptor it show the apple logo and shows a sad face with ipod and i could hear some tic tic sound from the harddisk please tell me what to do.

Hi @akash398, I suspect your microdrive has failed.
But based on some youtube and google, it seems it can be repaired and replaced to use CF Card.

iPod Mini Hard Drive Replacement
Based on the comments by djcfuzz:
I have been tinkering with the iPod classics, the 5th gens and now the iPod minis. I think the minis have a cool form factor and the plug and play for a compact flash card is handy. I have purchased a compact flash adapter to SD card, I then put a 128GB microsd into an SD to micro adapter and now I have 128GB mini. As a note, I did have to format the new card to FAT32 with AOMEI prior iPod restore.

But why it shows a charging symbol when it is connected to pc then if I connect with adapter it shows apple and a site link or a sad face
@Akash, as mentioned, i think the microdrive has failed, and thus unable to read / write to your ipod, thus a sad (Failure) face is shown.
Try getting a good CF card to test or try :)
