Did it previously run? Have you changed anything? What is the model number?

Have connected laptop to monitor using existing cable and all is fine. The model is an HP series 6 pavilion running windows 7.

There is no graphics card as it is incorporated in motherboard for this model.Tried F10 but still nothing happens on screen.

There are a few things that can cause this. The video cable could be defective, the graphics adapter has failed.

You confirmed that the monitor is good. Try using a different video cable, you can try using VGA if the VGA port is available on the monitor and the desktop, Display port and HDMI cables frequently fail.

If a known good cable does not work then check the video adapter. If the video adapter is a separate plug into the mother board, then try removing and reseating it. If the video adapter is built into the motherboard then check for loose cables.

Are you getting anything at all on the monitor or does it go into sleep mode? Do you have a graphics card in the pc? If so maybe you have it plugged into the motherboard not the graphics cards display port. Other than that I would restart and spam f10 and see if it will go into the bios.
