My lightning connecter was proven to be broken by my local Apple store, and I was not able to get them to fix my problem on the warranty. Therefore I'm looking to fix the iPhone myself. Have never done this before, and I'm therefore wondering if there's any difference between the different colors of the lightning connectors?
NB:my device is the iPhone 6S Space Gray.

It will look different color wise at the lightning dock and headphone jack. Other than that they are the same.
Just to confirm that the charging port needs replacing:
Does the charging cable go in fully?
There should be little to no gap between the white plastic casing of the charging cable and iPhone metal housing.
Also check the charging port with a flashlight there should be 8 pins visible and not pushed down.

Well the problem is that one of the 8 pins is pushed down or not present at all. Decided to go for the dark gray, as it is probably the correct color for my iPhone.
