Half of the screen's lights are not working and it flickers

Hi

I have been having sleepless nights with this issue.

The light on the screen of my Macbook is not functioning well. The issues are:

1. The light is flickering

2. Half of the screen is well-lit and the other half is dim

3. The screen looks like inside it are 'light bulbs'

Was the device dropped at all? It appears as if your backlight is having issues. You may need a display replacement to fix the issue.

It wasn't dropped but I remember I bumped this into a table then there was also 1 instance when my juice spilled inside my bag and the part where you flip the laptop got wet but I was able to clean it up after a few mins

It sounds like the display was compromised. A display replacement will fix the issue, unless the laptop has liquid damage on the motherboard where the display connects to it. Then your computer may have further irrepairable damage.

Ouch :( would you recommend having it fixed or better for me to just purchase a new one?

Fixed. As a Pro in the iFixit community, we are here to fix your devices. A display, motherboard, etc can always be fixed.
