Broken Locking Tab on the LCD cable

I was playing games when my tablet suddenly blacks out. It happened before but I fixed it back a few months ago when I searched for a solution on youtube. So I tried doing it again. But this time, I was being such a klutz and basically broke the locking tab on the lcd cable. It's not like it's not intact but a piece suddenly fell of the locking tab and I think I also broke a gold pin so I'm here panicking if it can still be repaired or not.

My question is, can it still be repaired or not? If yes, is it pricey to get it fixed or should I just buy another tablet?

Answer this question I have this problem too

If you broke a gold pin off of the lcd connector, then it would be better to get a new tablet.

You can also try using Kapton tape to secure the lcd cable into the lcd connector. The LCD locking tab is often made of plastic and can be easily broken. Securing the connection with kapton tape is a simple solution. You can purchase it from hardware stores or online via Amazon.

Can you tell me the chances of using Kapton Tape working?

If you are positive there is a missing pin, the kapton tape may not work. Some devices can have full touch with missing pins on the lcd connectors while others may never have touch again.

Kapton tape is a non conductive tape that can be used to secure connections on motherboards. We use it often in the store to reinforce connections or cover exposed gold pins. It is similar to the green tape you may have found on the inside of the devices battery, lcd, and camera connections.

I see. I'll try to ask for repairs at the shop here. But if it gets too pricey, I'll probably just buy a new one. Thank you for your tip!
