French Atari 2600 different than other European versions?

Bought recently an Atari 2600 in France and it doesn't work on the good ols TV's that I have in the Netherlands. Is that because it only works on former old French TV's?

So is there a difference in the Atari 2600's they made for the French market?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

How do you have it hooked up?

In the US atleast, the Atari uses RF which you need to connect to the Coaxial port on the TV. If you have it connected to the Composite port, that might very well be why.

And how do you know it functions? (Ignore this if you get some output showing you it works)
