electric short circuit, MacBook not working

My MacBook [white] 2008 laptop [Model: MB13E08, Processor: 2.4 GHz Core Duo] has been working well for all these days. But, unfortunately, few days back, its magnetic end of the magsafe charger was broke and I noticed an electric spark there while charging the laptop. But, ever after that the laptop has worked for some time and after that, when I tried to charge the laptop it didn’t charge again. My laptop is not working now.

I am suspecting, this is due to probable electric short circuit.

Now, my question is; which part of the laptop is spoiled..?

Is it the DC in board or the logic / mother board..?

I am suspecting these two parts, to the best of my knowledge. Which part I have to replace..?

Or could there be problem with any other part, PLEASE let me know.

In general, if an electric short circuit takes place at the magnetic end of the magsafe charger, which part of the “MacBook [white] 2008 laptop” is affected / spoiled..?

Please help me in this regard,

Thanks in advance,

~ Albert

I can't tell which it is, the adapter or the port. Here's the pin out on the right side of the page, use a multimeter to test: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MagSafe
