Use s6 edge battery on S6?

Ordering in haste, I bought the s6 edge battery instead of the standard 6.

Can I use this instead? I have read you can use s7/edge ones on the 6 as the battery Is only 1mm thicker.

My thought process would Be, if I can use it, why didn't Samsung do it?

If it is useable, then ideal!
